There’s nothing like spending your work life on a project that features some completely delicious images of faraway places to stir up excitement about chucking the laptop in my bag and taking off for more adventures. It’s been 18 months or more since the US experience, time to turn my attention back to Europe, where I haven’t set foot for 25 years or more.
The aforementioned project is one I’m rather proud of, and one that I had the thrill of changing roles to achieve. I moved from hands on tools, to Team Lead on this, www.escape.com.au a News Corp website built by our XWP team that serves to inspire people towards travel and adventure. And I gotta say it, it’s beautiful.
This was a huge project, the deadline was extreme but we were well resourced with amazing team members who have pulled out all the stops to get the site launched in time to coincide with the launch of a new design for the weekly metro feature, the Escape travel magazine.
And now that it’s done, and because I’m going to be speaking at WordCamp Europe in a few weeks in Vienna, I decided to extend my travels either side of the conference to visit a few places that have been on my bucket list for years.
So I’m writing this from Weisbaden in Germany, will be traveling for 6 weeks and look forward to updating my personal blog with photos as I go. If you’re interested in following along and don’t have that blog’s detail, message me and I’ll send you a link.
If you’re looking for travel inspiration yourself? Honestly, head over to www.escape.com.au and start planning your next adventure!
