I am an inveterate fiddler, interested in not only having my web site do the things I want, but having it look the way I want and also understanding how it works and how to make it do more!
I started out on a hosted blog, a brilliant introduction to the world of blogging and the first foray into internet community… the site’s still there I used to duplicate the posts there with the ones on my usual blog because the community that’s built up around the wibsite have all become my friends, but now I blog separately on both, each blog meets different needs in my world…
Once I’d been at it a year or two I felt that I needed more than a hosted blogging solution and I discovered Movable Type. I started only a few years ago with version 3.2 and gradually upgraded until I’ve got now to MT4.24… an infinitely easier product to install and manage…
I’m a convert and I suspect this blog will become a bit of a diary of my journeys in Movable Type, the good bad and the ugly, it’s not perfect by any means but what I learn along the way may help others.
Additionally, as I’m a student at USYD this year in the Master of Digital Communication and Cultures degree I suspect this will also become an outlet for all the stuff I’m learning there.
