I was hanging about on Facebook today, you know, as you do, and noticed a post in my news Feed from Air New Zealand. I was, of course, compelled to click through to see ‘the bigger picture’ – and very nice it is too! (go on, go have a look, I’ll wait…)
I figured it was a fun thing to try and very easy to do with the right tools… so I jumped into photoshop to make you a template so you can do the same! – here it is Click Through FB Image Gallery Template
To use it, simply open the file in photoshop (CS4 is the version I have) and position your photo on a layer under the ‘overlay’.
Then, when you’re ready, simply choose ‘File, Save for Web and Devices’. Set your image presets (jpeg), hit Save and choose where you want to put your files. In the parameters at the bottom of the save dialog your settings should be set as follows –
Format: Images Only,
Settings: Default Settings and
Slices: All User Slices. Then click Save.
Then simply upload your images to a new photo album on Facebook from their location on your computer (make sure they’re sorted, in their folder in name order) (all named image_1 … 16). Name the Photo Album ‘Click to See the Bigger Picture’ or some such compelling text to encourage users to click, set the image settings for Everyone so no one misses out on your brilliance and Publish your photos to your feed!!! Oh, and don’t forget to set an interesting photo as the album cover.
Happy Friday everyone!
