I’ve been spending a bit of time using the popular Genesis WordPress framework (produced by Studiopress) building a couple of sites on it lately, one somewhat more complex than the other. Genesis makes the basic deployment of new sites really, really easy but the learning curve to get used to how to manage things can prove a bit challenging.
I’ll document some of that learning curve, as I go, in the meantime here is a list of where I’m finding the most useful information, as much for my benefit as anyone else’s!
http://www.studiopress.com/support/ – this is a great resource, the moderators are all experienced users and really go out of their way to help!
Nick the Geek I’m still working my way through Nick’s Genesis posts, and still, to be frank, getting my head around the intricacies of the framework, but Nick makes getting that understanding a little easier with his plain english explanations!
Bill Erickson Great code snips and personal replies to comments on his blog requesting help… invaluable!
The WordPress Chick I haven’t spent a lot of time on this site yet, so this link is a bookmark for me to go back to!
Here’s a helpful post about Hooks – something upon which Genesis relies heavily – and while I’m talking about it here’s another useful hooks primer.
Themesforge’s Must read Genesis tips and tutorials – another bookmark for me to come back to.
GenesisTutorials – Really useful tutorials and guides from Christopher Cochran.
